Trail Ride with Teton Horseback Adventures!

On August 1st I went on a two hour trail ride in the Teton Mountains. It was more than just your typical trail ride though (exactly what I wanted!) We went up and down the mountain side (ok - they were more like hills :), around and over fallen trees, through willow patches, crossed creeks, and through the sagebrush. The other ladies that I was with were from San Diego and were a little surprised at the "roughness" of the trail and that horses could actually go off the trail. I just smiled. It was a wonderful experience to be able to sit on the back of a horse and look around and imagine what life in the "Old West" could've been like. Hopefully I'll be able to make the trek out into the middle of nowhere to the Teton Horseback base camp and persuade them to let me go and satisfy my inner cowgirl sometime before I leave Jackson. (and maybe next time I'll take more pictures - or just leave my camera at home and keep the pictures as memories....)

p.s. Rexburg and I are on the far left.
